Full-time STEM+Arts Coordinator/Community Organizer – Job Description

Position Summary
The STEM+Arts Coordinator/Community Organizer develops, implements, and oversees Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) plus Arts initiatives that increase student engagement, academic achievement, and community access. This role collaborates with educators, schools, industry partners, and community organizations to ensure programs align with academic standards, Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways, and workforce needs—particularly in underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development & Implementation: Design, facilitate, and evaluate hands-on STEM+Arts programs, workshops, camps, and community events.
  • Community & Industry Partnerships: Build and maintain partnerships with schools, libraries, museums, nonprofits, and corporate stakeholders to expand STEM+Arts  access, support mentorships, and manage apprenticeships.
  • Educator & Staff Support: Recommend instructional resources, professional development, and support to teachers, staff, and community instructors.
  • Outreach & Engagement: Promote STEM+Arts  initiatives through community engagement, events, and advocacy efforts.
  • Evaluation & Reporting: Collect and analyze data to measure program impact and report outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Resource & Budget Management: Manage budgets, oversee procurement in accordance with school/state guidelines, and secure funding, including grant writing when applicable.
  • Project Management: Coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously while meeting timelines and organizational goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and community partners
  • Organizational and multitasking abilities in fast-paced environments
  • Project management and program coordination experience
  • Technical proficiency and familiarity with STEM+Arts -related tools and platforms
  • Educational background or knowledge of K–12 or postsecondary systems preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or equivalent experience in education or community collaboration

Dean of Students – Position Overview

The Dean of Students serves as a key school administrator responsible for student life, behavior management, safety, and overall school culture. This role requires a confident, proactive leader who makes sound, consistent decisions aligned with school policies and student support best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • NM level 3-B Education Administration or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in education, student services, and/or teaching
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and make effective administrative and procedural decisions
  • Proven expertise in conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and behavior management, including the use of Restorative Practices
  • Strong ability to promote a positive, inclusive school culture while enforcing codes of conduct

Core Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with students, families, faculty, and administrators
  • Strong relationship-building skills within diverse school communities
  • Effective organizational, time management, and technical skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Administrator in campus safety, emergency response, and student welfare initiative
  • Manage student behavior and disciplinary processes.
  • Collaborate with staff to strengthen school climate and student engagement
  • Assist the management of daily operations such as arrival dismissals and lunch supervision. 
  • Other essential duties and responsibilities: Site testing coordinator, MLSS/504/SAT coordinator, and other administrative duties as requested
